Listening to the songs

Players you need

You will need the RealPlayer for some of the songs. Get it here. And you can still get the RealOne Player here.

The old Real Player 8 is still available here, as are other previous versions, and you can certainly use your old Real Player if you prefer it (which I do!). You can also try out the not free RealPlayer if you wish and, if you decide to cancel after the 14-day trial period, you'll still be able to use the basic RealPlayer features.

To get your free player for MP3s, go to Winamp. Or you can use Windows Media Player. If you are using Windows, there is probably a version already installed on your system. Other possibilities are MusicMatch Jukebox and iTunes.

You can also get some more player help from 'Bill Gates' here. In any case, some of the older versions of music players are preferable, as the later ones take up more disk space, are slow to open and, frankly, are unnecessarily complicated to use. Here's a good selection of players too, thanks to composer Bill Brown.

Why some of our songs take ages to open

For slower connexions, MP3s take time to download. So please be patient, because they really do give you a better quality. The Real files should be quicker, especially after you've opened the first one.

Our Website design

Our Website is not in the least badly-designed, but Websites do sometimes look different in the different browsers. The best solution is to use the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer or NeoPlanet. (NeoPlanet's site is not responding at the moment).

If you are using the old Netscape 4x browser, yep, our site will look poorly-designed. You really do need to upgrade to the latest version of Netscape here - you won't regret it.

Of course, if you just don't like our site design, here's the nice man to tell. And please do let him (John) know if you see any broken links on the site, or if you have any problems here at SongLand. Thanks.

Are our songs copyrighted?

Most certainly! All the songs are registered with the Performing Right Society in London, UK. John has been a Writer/Member for many years, and is also a longtime member of the International Songwriters Association.
